Ice-T vs Soulja Boy

We're not gonna stay neutral on this one.

Yes, Ice T made a good point. Soulja Boy's music lacks substance. For those of us who appreciate lyrics as well as a good beat, Soulja Boy doesn't do it. But Soulja Boy has every right to do his own thing, 'cos that's what hip-hop is all about.

Hip-hop was going downhill a few years ago, and it's because the lyricists were vanishing. But we now have Lupe Fiasco, Kanye West, and the legendary MC's like Common, Nas, and Jay-Z.

Soulja Boy enforces the negative stereotype of rap music. Loud beats and repetitions of h***, b***, and you know the rest. It's ringtone music. It's not that great.

But at the same time, we all danced to "Superman that hoe," so maybe Ice should stop being an angry old man, and do the Soulja Boy dance too...

Ice-T does NOT need to be exchanging words with a 17 year old kid. Let Soulja Boy do his own thing, you do yours.

But for now, the winner is... ICE-T.

Thoughts?

Ice-t is too old to rap so he should stick with law and order or whatever show he plays on
